Eligibility

1. US citizen or permanent resident
2. Enrolled full time at a college or university majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or other closely related majors
3. Junior or senior academic standing preferred
4. 3.0 or better GPA
5. Adequate knowledge of programming
6. Minorities and women are strongly encouraged to apply

Application Information

Apply through NSF Education and Training Application (ETAP) system.

Required application materials:

1. An electronic copy of the most recent transcript including the courses of Spring 2023.
2. A one page resume.
3. A personal statement (about 500 words) which you should briefly describe why you are interested in this REU site at New Mexico Tech, your education plans, your career goals, any research experiences related to the REU site, and your strength and weakness etc.
4. One recommendation letter from a faculty member preferably in your major who can assess your experiences or skills relevant to undergraduate research, such as academic preparation, creativity, problem solving etc.
