I live in Albuquerque, where I work for Sandia National Laboratories on IT projects. I am professionally interested in information security, configuration management and automation, the discipline now called "DevOps", and Linux system administration. My professional experience includes both security and DevOps for government organizations.

I volunteer with American Red Cross Disaster Services as a disaster responder and in certain odd roles. I am also an amateur scholar of computer history and local history, particularly as it pertains to land use and environmental issues since the turn of the 20th century.

My personal interests include photography (especially architectural), music of most genres, humanism and ethical philosophy, and infrastructure and urban systems. I am passionate about gender and sexual minority (GSM) issues and K-12 STEM education. I enjoy road trips and like writing, either prose or software.

I lived my entire life in Portland, Oregon up until attending New Mexico Tech. I graduated from Grover Cleveland High School as the Outstanding Business Student in 2010. While in high school I was heavily involved in the Future Business Leaders of America (I am a two-time national skills competition champion) and the FIRST Robotics Competition (Team 1432).

I attended college at New Mexico Tech in Socorro, New Mexico, where I completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology with high honors. I participated in the Scholarship for Service program and was heavily involved in the New Mexico Tech Student Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery, which I chaired for several semesters. I also served as president of the Waffle Club, at the time the second largest club on campus, for three years.
