I have to wonder what brought an Osprey to choose the top
of a telephone pole on the New Mexico Tech campus as a
feeding station around midday today. There he was, big
as life, oblivious to foot and vehicle traffic going by
just below, calmly eating a sizeable fish. This pole was
just east of Family Student Housing, just across the
street from the new dorm construction site on Neel Avenue
on the south side of campus.
There are several ponds on the golf course with fish in them,
but this was a few hundred yards from any of those.
