Route 1200, leave Socorro, drive to Water Canyon. 1215, turn down Water Canyon Road. 1240, on foot from the new North Fork campsite. 1410, turnaround above the second stream crossing, the old Forest Rules Volleyball site. 1530, back to the car. 1550, turn on to US-60.

This bird was hanging around a residential neighborhood long after the masses of crows had left. Are they thinning out somewhat later this winter?

Near MSEC building on the Tech campus.
Vocalizations: Heard, 'rack' call.
There is a pair of ravens breeding on the golf course. This may have been one of them. The breeding pair is quiet around the nest, so for all I know those birds might be Commons.

There is a paved road that branches off Cuba Road and meanders along the freeway before turning east to join the other end of Cuba Road. In the section near the freeway, I photographed a White-tailed Antelope Squirrel, Ammospermophilus leucurus.

Siskins were absent all winter until roughly mid-March.
