Saw a fox (not sure which species) crossing Calle de Lago
at about 10:15pm. Numerous people have seen one or two
foxes in town recently; there was a picture of one on the
front page of the local paper.

Two Striped Skunks observed from uncomfortably close
range. As I emerged from the north door of Speare Hall
after dark, I saw what I thought were two cats walking
toward the loading ramp (where I was about to walk down
to my car). They were not cats. They disappeared into
a drainpipe and did not trouble me further, thankfully.

Route
15:20, leave San Antonio southbound. Drove down to
the site of the recent railroad derailment to inspect
the cleanup process. BNSF was a lot more prepared
than BP, and I'm reasonably satisfied that they have
done little or no damage to the refuge.
15:55, on the loop.
16:55, start the seasonal road.
17:30, leave the main tour loop.
17:45, county A-101 north.
18:15, look at Chaparral and Hope Farms Roads in
Socorro.
