Saw my first Javelina (Pecari tajacu): two together near the beginning of the Intermittent Road. Refuge people say these were first documented on the refuge around 1999; this is my first encounter with them in Socorro County, having seen them near Whitewater Creek near Mogollon and also at Washington Ranch.
