Starting with the 2006 season, enter 1 if a cloacal sample was taken with a size 1 swab, or a 2 for a size 2 swab. In the 2007 season, enter F if the fecal sample came from the bag rather than from the bird's cloaca.

In 2011, some Indiana sites started placing a C in this column to signify that the bird was color-banded. (Your author has no idea why status codes 301 and 501 do not suffice.)
