Student Advising

• Today marks the start of advising for Spring 2023.
• Please contact your advisees and be responsive to them.
• I counted advisees recently; it was Jeffery and Knowles at 51 and 47, Ramyaa and Mazumdar at 30, most others in the 20-24 range. We are in the process of load balancing and adding advisees to the new faculty.

LANL visit 11/1

Employees from the Los Alamos National Laboratory will be visiting NMT's campus to talk with our IT/CS students. They will be located throughout the day in Fidel 262 to talk with students, collect resumes, and discuss available internship opportunities at LANL. At 5 pm, they will be holding an info session in Jones Annex 101.

Makerspace: Space and Utilization

At present the Makerspace might need more space. For us to ask for a larger space, it would help to (a) have the space, and (b) be able to argue that increasing the space will increase the value (presumably utilization). For me to go ask for more space, I had better have resolved any outstanding space issues, such as Cramer 228.
