Agenda for CSE Department Meeting 3-10-21
- SRS Update: Campuswide SRS Deadline is TODAY.
- Encourage your research students to submit something! And also submit
to our department showcase by March 27. So far I have received
- CSE Advisory Board
- I have asked past advisory board members if they are available to continue
and gotten answers from most. Logical meeting time would be: around the
SRS Showcase April 15th in the PM. Any vetoes to April 15AM,
April14pm, or April 16? Also: I would like to be briefed on what a
CSAB meeting traditionally looked like at NMT.
- Graduate Student / TA Applicants Update
- I have issued TA offers for about our full complement of TAs.
This includes half-TA offers for persons to whom half-RA offers were made.
If you
become aware of any changes in your RA hiring plans, please let me know.
- Council of Chairs Followup
- Previously we discussed, and did not have consensus, on whether to drop
CSE 382's prerequisite of CSE 326.
Would CSE accept "completion of all lower-division CS or IT
requirements"?
- Next week: IT Program Review
- I will invite BTM faculty
- PhD Course Requirements
- What should they look like at NMT in 2021? Minimally, I want them to
be accurate about current practices.
- Prereq Reform
-
Jeffery's goals
- find a solution to the 101 prereq for 2xx
- find a solution to the calc 2 prereq e.g. for series and sequences
- find a solution to the grad course prereqs.
