Advisory Board Status

• We will meet this Spring, one of the weeks of April 15, 22, or 29. So far the prime options are:
  • April 17th all day (except 1:30-2:30) NO Dongwan NO Darryl
  • April 18th all day NO Dongwan NO Darryl
  • April 19th all day maybe NO Dongwan NO Darryl
  • April 22nd all day
  • April 29th after 10am (best Jun)
  • April 30th all day (preferred by one, blacked out by one)
  • May 1st all day (preferred by one, blacked out by one) prefer not Subh.
  Do you have blackouts on some of these days?
• We have a new advisory board member, Kenny Gruchalla of NREL.
• Bob Robey, former LANL advisor, is now with AMD and has stepped down.
• I asked LANL for a new advisory board nominee. LANL nominated NMT BSCS'15 alum Ian Andrew Baldwin, who has now been at LANL 9 years and has an MS from UNM.

End of Semester BBQ Party and Awards Ceremony

Party is Wed April 24 from 4-7pm. There was lots of kerfluffle about how to pay for it, as Academic Affairs has advised not to use regular CSE department funds for "entertainment". We are paying for it out of the CS gift account. If I read the documents right, the CS gifts last year do not quite cover it, but come close. Not a great or sustainable model.

End of Year Awards

We will need to award some awards. The usual thing is for me to figure these out too late to make it into the commencement program! Need to be doing them in like February!
