Shipman's favorite Albuquerque French restaurants

I don't have a lot of experience with French food, but its national principles often coincide with mine: fresh food, simply prepared.

• Brasserie La Provence, Albuquerque, NM
• P'tit Louis Bistro, Albuquerque, NM
• Chez Axel****, northeast corner of San Pedro and Montgomery. Very nice atmosphere and food all around. Excellent take on Provençal style.
• Café Voila. Hard to find, but worth it. Country style.
• I haven't tried it, but some folks like La Crepe Michel, in Old Town. Others disdain it, saying it is not great French.
